Rapunzel’s Coffee and Books is an eclectic arts venue, community space, coffee shop, and used bookstore located in The Packing Shed in historic Lovingston, Virginia. Rapunzel’s Further Ado Foundation hosts live music every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday evenings starting at 8pm.
We host an acoustic open jam every Wednesday, beginning at 7pm (ish). This is a relaxed, informal, very social round-robin-style evening of music. Styles trend through country, blues, oldtime, bluegrass, americana and folk, but our core group happily plays along with just about anything.
This event is appropriate for musicians of all ability levels. Feel free to lead a song, play along, sing, or just sit back and listen!
Fridays & Saturdays are performances –predominantly music– but we also regularly host theater and dance presentations as well. Shows start at 8pm.
• Open Mic Night is held on the second Friday of each month.
• Jazz Sessions featuring our house jazz band, the Accidentals, and guest artists with a jazz jam held after the first hour are held the last Friday of every month.
• We hold quarterly Poetry & Fiction nights and the new Six-Pack Songwriter Showcases as well. http://
All ages are welcome, and kids under 12 get in free.
The space is also available for Private Parties and Group Meetings.
At Rapunzel’s we carry thousands of used books at good prices; paperbacks start at $1.25 and hardcovers start at $3.00.
Rapunzel’s is a listening-room, living-room-style environment. Come get comfortable with a good book and a cup of coffee or tea, and settle in for an evening of music on the couch of your choice… we have free wi-fi and serve only Nelson County local brews (wine, beer, and, cider). Join us!
